Welcome to the February Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop, you should have found your way to my blog via Tara's blog. If not I have the master list for the Blog Hop at the end of my post so you can follow along and not get lost. I am happy to be sharing my Master Forger Counterfeit Kit that I put together from my stash. I am calling my kit Blue Spring this month, keep reading and you will see why.
This months kit was picked by the wonderful Jolene and is by TRES JOLIE and was their November kit based around Prima Darcelle range. It is such a differently beautiful kit.
"Fall
under the dark, romantic spell of Darcelle by Frank Garcia for Prima.
This mesmerizing
and delicately elegant collection is filled with indigo blues,
boysenberry purples, and medallion golds for creating projects that will
leave you speechless. Design a mixed media panel, love-filled card, or
gorgeous notebook pages filled with vintage charm
and beautiful accents. Discover wild and free sentiments, curious
butterflies, whispers of foil, and glittering jewels in the secrets that
Darcelle holds"
At first I was a bit shell shocked with the chosen kit - all that dark blue!! And me, who mainly scraps my two daughters, how could I get this to work for me? I kept glancing at the kit and slowly I looked beyond the blue and saw the individual elements - doilies, flowers, leaves, butterflies, wood veneer, chipboard, bold and gentle at the same time. So with these things in mind I decided to start with my patterned papers...... little did I realise I actually had a heap of dark blues in my stash..... I just kept pulling them out until I had a pile about an inch thick!
For my patterned papers I mainly wanted to stick with the dark blues, but I needed to put some colour into my kit so I sorted through my florals looking for ones that I thought would go with all the dark blues. Along the way I found papers with doilies printed on them and butterflies so they had to go in the ever increasing pile. Then last but not least a few odd prints such as typed words, plates and cameras, all with a smidgen of dark blue on them.
Now for the embellishments, one again I looked at elements and pulled out bulk flowers, some die cut roses, doilies, chipboard and wood veneer shapes, butterflies and leaves. So all up it doesn't really look like the original TRES JOLIE kit, but I am loving how it turned out and if I use it all up I will have made a small dent in my stash.
There is a lot here in my kit, not sure how I will go bashing it, but I am going to give it a good go.
Now head on over to Tina and see what kit she pulled together. Remember we always love to see
your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can use
our Monthly Link-up page, post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcfebruary2020).

A wonderful kit Tracey! I'm jealous of all those dark blues. The pretty florals add a nice balance to your kit too. Enjoy using all this.

Oh my. What a kit. I adore all of the blue (I have very little after so long making counterfeit kits!) and am a wee bit jealous!
ReplyDeleteLove love love... all the papers are divine and I love that you did so many twists on the florals.
ReplyDeleteOh my word, that is a literal paper store of goodies - so many sweet florals. Love your kit.
ReplyDeleteLots of pretties in your kit! We must have all went crazy and built a large kit !
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! Anticipating beautiful layouts of your daughters with this copious kit. Good to question the What will I do with all that blue? to help fill in a kit with the right help that it may now get killed!
