Today I’m sharing another Design Team layout for 3Quarter Designs, created with the beautiful Butterfly Grove Collection.
As soon as I saw the gorgeous floral wreath in this collection, I knew exactly which photo I wanted to scrapbook — this happy photo of me with my girls. The flowers, butterflies and beautiful mix of pinks, purples, creams and pops of orange worked so well with the photo.
Of course, I couldn’t just use the wreath exactly as it was!
There were some gorgeous graphics on the reverse side of the paper that I wanted to save for another layout, so I carefully cut those pieces out first. That left me with sections of flowers from the original wreath. Rather than waste them, I drew a large circle onto my background and arranged the leftover flowers around it in clusters to create my own version of the wreath.
And I have to mention the stripes. I am absolutely loving the striped papers in Butterfly Grove. I used the striped section as a feature on this page and love the extra colour and interest it brings without taking attention away from the photo. A few butterflies, some splatters and little finishing details were all it needed to bring everything together.
One of the things I really love about Butterfly Grove is how many different ways the papers can be used. Cutting into that wreath meant I could create this layout and save those reverse-side graphics for another page — always a bonus when you want to stretch a beautiful collection even further.
You can find Butterfly Grove and lots more gorgeous collections over at 3Quarter Designs.
Thanks for stopping by and having a look at my latest Design Team creation.
