April Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop Reveal

Hello everyone and welcome to my the Counterfeit Kit April Blog Hop. Hope that you are all keeping well and safe in this strange new world of COVID19 lockdown. I am busy still working full time from home, from the office on alternative weeks and home schooling the girls - hopefully around all that I will find some time to use this months Counterfeit Kit that I have pulled from my stash.

This months Kit is by Cocoa Daisy - Orchard Path, which is such a lovely soft kit full of inspiration for all sorts of paper crafters. Pocket pagers, Planners, Scrappers, Cardmakers and Art Journallers will all find something to be inspired by.

I drew my inspiration from firstly the colours; dark blue, mustard yellow, peachy pink and I think it is a white wash wood look paper peeking out between the navy blue and pinky check paper in the top left of the kit. My next inspiration was from all the die cuts, cut apart rectangles and stickers.

Patchwork Heart

I called my kit Patchwork Heart this month based on the paper heart 12x12 sheet and the smaller patterned hearts which I thought had similar colours as the Cocoa Daisy kit and pulled from my stash based on them. I found I didn't have as much mustard in my stash as I thought but there are flecks throughout my kit. I have added touches of light turquoise for something different and the white wash wood grain.

For the embellishments I pulled anything small and cute; so clips, puffy shapes, paperclips, small resin flowers and enamel dots all tided into my chosen colour scheme.

Cut-a-part sheets, alphas and stickers were the last things I pulled.

When I look at my kit I can see that it has worked out brighter than the original Cocoa Daisy Kit but it does tie back to it just different hues. I love how it has all come together and I am itching to get in and start scrapping with it.

Here is the full blog hop list for you to play along and continue on your way along the Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop.

I love that you pulled blue into your kit. It’s beautiful! You have so many pretty things in there that I couldn’t just choose one! But I do love your puffy stickers!

This kit is gorgeous! I could have a lot of fun scrapping with it! That Simple Stories Posh line was one of my all-time favorite collections. Looking forward to seeing your creations with your kit!

Tracey: What a large impressive copy-cat kit you've assembled for April!!! Your kit's color palette has a stronger contrast than the original but I do still see enough softer tones reflected in yours. Your mix of embellishments look amazing, too! Have lots of creative fun mix and matching!
